Betfred Super League – Round 4 Preview including World Club Challenge

The Super League moves into the fourth round and we have every game covered, and we also look at the Betfred World Club Challenge between St Helens and Sydney.

Betfred’s Owen McMahon guides us through this week’s action.

BETFRED WORLD CLUB CHALLENGE
St Helens vs Sydney Roosters

Odds: Saints 11/4, Sydney 3/10, Tie 22/1

Betfred says: We can’t wait for the Betfred World Club Challenge on Saturday, as the best of Betfred Super League take on the best of the National Rugby League. The Roosters are a dominant force Down Under, and will be very tough to beat – but we’re backing Kristian Woolf and the Saints to do just that!

SUPER LEAGUE ROUND 4

Hull KR vs Huddersfield Giants

Odds: Hull KR 6/4, Huddersfield 8/13, Tie 25/1

Betfred says: Huddersfield could go top of the Betfred Super League on Friday, despite being one of the favourites for relegation before a ball had been thrown. Hull KR made a decent start to the campaign, but went down by a whopping 42 points to Leeds last time out, and the Giants should have enough at this stage to take this by 8 or more.

Castleford Tigers vs Wakefield Trinity

Odds: Castleford 2/5, Wakefield 9/4, Tie 22/1

Betfred says: This is an incredibly tough one to predict as Castleford, after a great start, suffered their first loss of the season last week going down heavily to Catalans – while Wakefield gained a shock victory over Warrington after a disappointing opening loss to Hull KR. Given home advantage, Castleford are taken to just edge the derby, which is likely to be a tight affair.

Warrington Wolves vs Toronto Wolfpack

Odds: Warrington 1/10, Toronto 8/1, Tie 25/1

Betfred says: After Warrington battered St Helens 19-0 the other week, not many thought they’d go down fairly easily to Wakefield just ten days later. They’re given the perfect chance to return to winning ways here though, at home against a side clearly struggling with the demands of the Betfred Super League. Toronto will get their first win of the season soon, but it’s very unlikely to be here. The Wolves can take this by 16 or more.

Salford Red Devils vs Leeds Rhinos

Odds: Salford 13/8, Leeds 8/15, Tie 20/1

Betfred says: Here’s another tie this week that could be really close. Something clearly clicked for Leeds last week when beating Hull KR by 42 points, after losing by 26 points to FC the week before. Salford have been a shadow of their selves from last season, but haven’t been totally disgraced in their three games to date. It’s incredibly difficult to call, so it might be worth siding with a narrow Salford win at the prices.

Wigan Warriors vs Hull FC

Odds: Wigan 1/2, Hull FC 7/4, Tie 20/1

Betfred says: This is a cracking spectacle between two sides who have started the season pretty much how they intend to continue. The deciding factor here is likely to be the home factor, and the Warriors can be taken to record a win by 6 or more.
