The Super League moves into the sixth round and we have every game covered.
Betfred’s Owen McMahon guides us through this week’s action.
Leeds Rhinos vs Toronto Wolfpack
Match Odds: Leeds 1/10, Toronto 15/2, Tie 33/1
Betfred says: Leeds haven’t looked back after an opening day defeat to Hull FC, winning their next three games – including a sensational 36-0 defeat of Warrington last time out. Toronto were themselves beaten to-nil last week, by Betfred Super League champions St Helens, and are yet to record a point in their first season in the top-flight. It will be a huge shock if the Rhinos don’t win this – and expect it to be comfortable, by 20 points or more.
Wakefield Trinity vs Hull FC
Match Odds: Wakefield 6/4, Hull FC 8/13, Tie 22/1
Betfred says: Wakefield are performing above early expectations so far this season, although they look up against it here. Hull FC were top of the Betfred Super League a few weeks ago, but have lost their last three games. They’ve had to face the likes of St Helens, Wigan and Catalans, mind, and they should appreciate the drop in class here and can win by 8 or more.
St Helens vs Huddersfield Giants
Match Odds: Saints 1/6, Huddersfield 5/1, Tie 25/1
Betfred says: Huddersfield have been one of the surprise packages of the season so far, winning their first three games and for a time sitting top of the tree. However, they were humbled last time out by Wigan, going down by 30+ points. Saints had one blip when Warrington beat them to-nil, but other than that they’ve looked pretty dominant and can take this one by a wide 20 or more margin.
Warrington Wolves vs Castleford Tigers
Match Odds: Warrington 4/7, Castleford 13/8, Tie 22/1
Betfred says: Despite getting off to a solid start in their opening two games, Warrington have lost to Wakefield, made hard work Toronto and been humbled by Leeds. Something doesn’t seem right at the Halliwell Jones, and so it is the worst possible timing that they face the in-form Castleford, who are joint top of the table with Wigan. The visitors can take this one, at a nice price too.
Catalans Dragons vs Salford Red Devils
Match Odds: Catalans 1/6, Salford 9/2, Tie 25/1
Betfred says: Salford have been disappointing so far this season, especially in comparison to their 2019 campaign. Catalans have made a solid start, beating the current joint-leaders Castleford by a comfortable margin. The should have little problems here, especially at home, and could hand Salford a hammering by 20 or more.
Wigan Warriors vs Hull KR
Match Odds: Wigan 1/16, Hull KR 10/1, Tie 33/1
Betfred says: As the odds suggest, this should be a comfortable afternoon for the Warriors. They’re right at the top of the Betfred Super League table, while Hull KR are struggling near the bottom. The latter haven’t won in four games, and it should become five here with a pretty convincing Wigan win. They can take it by 24 or more.
