Betting suspended across the board on Neymar move

Most bookmakers have suspended betting on Barcelona’s Brazilian superstar Neymar joining Paris Saint Germain.

Only a week ago, Neymar was 1/5 to be with Barcelona next season – but things change very quickly in football and now he is on the brink of becoming the most expensive player in footballing history.

Rumours began to emerge of PSG’s willingness to meet Neymar’s release clause of £195million early this week, and now it is understood the Parisian giants are nearing a deal.

Neymar will become the highest paid player in European football on around £500,000-a-week, surpassing both current team-mate Lionel Messi and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo – although still behind Chinese based pair Ezequiel Lavezzi and Carlos Tevez.

Neymar, 25, is widely expected to agree a long-term deal with PSG early next week – leaving Barcelona after four-years at the Nou Camp.

The deal will see PSG smash the world record transfer price by nearly £100million, beating Manchester United’s purchase of Paul Pogba from Juventus last summer.
