Bookmakers have suspended betting on Mary Berry’s replacement for the Great British Bake Off with Prue Leith expected to take over.

With the announcement of the show moving to Channel 4 from BBC One this year, Berry and presenters Mel & Sue confirmed they would be leaving.

Paul Hollywood is staying with the show where he is expected to be joined by Leith – who is known for her judging role on the Great British Menu.

“Everything points to Prue Leith and we are just waiting for an announcement,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

“That said, the market for who will be the new presenting team remains, with Richard Ayoade the 5/1 favourite, closely followed by Jennifer Saunders who is 6/1 and Jamie Oliver who is 8/1.

“My money is on Jamie Oliver, but it looks like a very open market to us.”
