Bookmakers are not convinced that Chelsea will be able to defend their Premier League title this season, indeed they are odds-on to be trophy-less.
Antonio Conte’s side were brilliant last season, winning the Premier League with relative ease with only Tottenham providing any real competition.
But after losing the curtain raiser Community Shield, some are now thinking Chelsea could have a tough time of it this season and they are 4/6 not to win a trophy.
The reigning champions are also shorter than ever at 5/2 to finish outside of the top four this season. And having been 1/4 last month to still be in charge on the final day of the campaign, Antonio Conte’s odds of remaining in the dugout have drifted to 2/1.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “The start of the new season is less than a week away, but plenty needs to be done in West London if Chelsea are to pose a serious threat in all competitions.”
“We reckon the Blues could go a whole campaign without lifting silverware, which could leave Conte looking for a new job before the season’s out.”
