Bookies slash Bottas odds

Bookmakers have slashed the odds on Valtteri Bottas winning the world title after he claimed victory in the Russian Grand Prix.

Bottas won his first GP in over 80 attempts in only his fourth GP for Mercedes, and whilst Lewis Hamilton and Seb Vettel remain favourites – Bottas has seen his odds cut to 9/1 from 25/1.

Vettel, who finished second in Russia is now rated 8/11 for his fifth world title, whilst Hamilton – who was fourth in Russia – is 4/6.

Liam Glynn, BoyleSports spokesperson said: “Valtteri Bottas wasn’t expected to win the Russian Grand Prix and as a result the Finnish native is now 9/1 from 25/1 to win his first ever Drivers’ Championship.

“At present he lies 23 points adrift of his teammate Vettel in third place.

“The Constructors’ Championship is wide open so far this season with Mercedes leading Ferrari after four races by just one point. Ferrari have seen their price contract into 6/4 having been priced at 4/1 at the start of the season.”
