Bookmakers believing Wenger on Sanchez

Bookmakers are finally starting to believe Arsene Wenger when it comes to Alexis Sanchez.

Wenger has remained insistent that he will not sell Sanchez this summer, despite the fact he has less than 12-months left on his current deal and the Chilean does not want to put pen-to-paper on a new contract.

Manchester City have long been favourites to land Sanchez, and they remain keen on securing a deal – and that had been talks over a possible exchange involving Sergio Aguero.

Paris Saint Germain have also shown interest, but Sanchez himself is keen to link up with City boss Pep Guardiola – but he may have to wait until next summer to seal that move, although he could then move for free.

And Wenger is seemingly willing to lose him for nothing, thus turning his back on a potential fee of around £50million this summer.

Bookmakers are now siding with Wenger, and PaddyPower make Sanchez 1/14 to stay.

“It looks like Sanchez is Gunner stay, which should guarantee Arsenal fans’ favourite sight again this season – Alexis throwing a sulk on the pitch,” PaddyPower spokesman Lee Price told TheGamblingTimes.com.

“Wenger’s stance on the deal appears to end any interest in his ‘next club market’. Until January.”
