Bookmakers close on the Ox as Liverpool agree terms

Liverpool have agreed a deal with Arsenal for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Most Bookmakers have stopped taking bets on the England star making the move to Anfield, after he rejected a move to Chelsea.

The 24-year-old rebuffed a switch to Chelsea as they were planning on using him at wing-back, but Liverpool have pledged to use him in a more central role.

Now Oxlade-Chamberlain is to finalise his move to the North West. He is currently on international duty with England, but will be given some time off to go through his medical and agree personal terms.

Bookmakers have now withdrawn the market on Oxlade-Chamberlain with a deal imminent.

BetVictor’s Head of antepost Football Michael Triffitt said: “We closed with the news breaking that fee agreed and player due for medical.”
