Bournemouth insist that they will not allow England striker Callum Wilson to leave the club in January.
The 27-year-old has enjoyed his best Premier League campaign to date, and has already scored as many goals as he did in the whole of last season.
His form has seen him handed his first England cap, whilst also attracting interest from a number of rival clubs.
Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United have all been linked – but Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe insists they have little intention of allowing him to leave.
“Yes, we are (confident),” Howe said when asked at a press conference whether the club would keep Wilson during the January window.
“At this stage we are just focusing on the matches, we have got so many games to come around the Christmas period, I am sure Callum is the same, he is focusing on his football. We are certainly not anticipating losing players in January that we don’t want to.”
Wilson is into 9/4 from 3/1 to bolster the Blues attack in January.
Betway’s Alan Alger said: “Callum Wilson to Chelsea is just about the most popular January transfer market on offer at the moment and we’ve had to shorten his odds of moving from 3/1 to 9/4.
“The Blues have struggled for goals up top for a little while now and they may see the addition of Wilson as a way of guaranteeing a few more goals and a top-four finish during what’s set to be a busy second half of the season.”
