Southampton are braced to lose right-back Cedric Soares this summer, our Football Insider Graeme Bailey understands.
Cedric joined Southampton from Sporting Lisbon in 2015 in a deal worth just under £5million and that now looks great work from The Saints.
The Portuguese international has settled brilliantly into life in England, when some questioned if he would be able to cope with the rigours of the Premier League.
Now his performances for The Saints have got a clutch of clubs looking to land him, with some of Europe’s finest considering a move for him.
Barcelona and Manchester City are two of the clubs who are circling and are considering summer bids.
Our Football Insider Graeme Bailey confirmed to us: “Cedric has done wonderfully well and Southampton have just handed him a new deal in the last year, but they also know they could get a huge profit on him.
“His market value would easily be around £20million and for a full-back that is big.
“I have been told by sources that both Barcelona and Man City have him very high on their list, they have both been hugely impressed by his progress in the last 12-months.”
We spoke to Ladbrokes about the market on Cedric and Dave Burin told TheGamblingTimes.com said: “It seems Southampton could be set to lose another key man to a Premier League rival, with a host of clubs queuing up for Cedric’s signature.”
Southampton have become famed for finding talent before selling on for huge fees in recent years. The likes of Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana, Jose Fonte, Nathaniel Clyne, Luke Shaw and Dejan Lovren are just some of the names who have left St Mary’s for big money.
