Champions League Final Preview – Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur

Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League Final as they battle to become European champions.

Liverpool can secure their sixth European title in Madrid, whilst Tottenham are looking for their first ever top prize at European level in what is their first ever final.

The Reds go into the second successive final, having lost out to Real Madrid 12-months ago. It is a third final for Jurgen Klopp, and he is yet to taste victory having also lost with Borussia Dortmund in 2013.

But Klopp insists that this is his best team ever, admitting: “I have never been part of a final with a better team than this.

“I am not so surprised by this because our boys mix our potential with attitude in the best way I have witnessed.

“I don’t like to blame my other teams. I love them all. They all gave everything.”

Mauricio Pochettino admits that his Spurs side have caused a shock by reaching the final, but they are hopeful of securing victory.

“Was the target at the start of the campaign to reach the Champions League final? Certainly not, but it was to win every game in front of us, to get over every obstacle, to put in a huge effort to know we’ve done all we can, and to have the strength to achieve something wonderful.

“I think that’s what’s got us here today.”
