Champions League round-up: Juve out-class Barca; Dortmund postponed

Once again Barcelona have it all to do in the Champions League after another heavy first leg defeat, this time to going down 3-0 at Juventus.

Argentine striker Paulo Dybala was the star of the show with two goals to help the Italian champions on their way to an impressive win.

Dybala curled home twice within the opening 22 minutes. The third was added just before the hour when Giorgio Chiellini headed home.

“We played a great game and we made the best of the chances we had. It’s certainly a great result ahead of the return leg,” said Dybala.

Barca are left with the task of coming from behind for a consecutive match – they beat Paris Saint Germain after a 4-0 deficit in the previous leg and are now left with a similar task at the Camp Nou next week.

After the win Juventus are now rated at 10/3 to win the Champions League after being 8/1 whilst Barcelona are 12/1.

The game in Turin was the only game of the evening after the second game between Borussia Dortmund and Monaco was postponed following an explosion near the home team’s hotel. Police confirmed there had been three explosions in the area of the team bus.

The match will now be played on Wednesday.

Dortmund’s chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke said: “There has been an attack with explosives on the team bus.

“The whole team is in a state of shock – you can’t get pictures like that out of your head.”
