Champions League Wednesday Preview

Tottenham travel to Ajax for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final needing to overturn a 1-0 deficit.

Spurs suffered defeat in the opening game, but Mauricio Pochettino’s men arrive in Amsterdam positive they can get a result they need.

“The negative result in the first leg obviously makes it more difficult, but the tie is still open. We know we need to win and perform to our best. It’s an exciting moment for us,” he said.

“Nobody thought we would have the possibility in the last week of the season to reach the final of the Champions League. Now we need to enjoy this moment and believe.”

Ajax have already eliminated Real Madrid and Juventus, and they hope to book a place in their first Champions League final since 1996.

“The away goal was important last week,” said Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag.

“We will play in an arena with an incredible atmosphere and we hope that will help us. When you play against a Premier League team the intensity is higher. We will have to push our boundaries again.
