Chelsea’s lead at the top of the Premier League is back to seven points after a comfortable 4-3 win over Southampton at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues lost their last league march at Manchester United earlier this month – but they have enjoyed their last few days with victory in their FA Cup semi-final with Tottenham and now victory over The Saints which has seen then title odds again cut to 1/14 with Spurs drifting to 7/1.
Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Gary Cahill were all restored to the starting line-up by Antonio Conte and they all celebrated their returns with goals.
Hazard opened the scoring after just five-minutes but Southampton were level 20-minutes later when former Blues midfielder Oriol Romeu bundled the ball home.
Just before half-time and Chelsea were back in-front with Cahill heading home.
Costa then put the game beyond Southampton with a second-half double, before yet another former Chelsea player score as Ryan Betrand added a consolation in injury time.
