Chelsea have been made new favourites to land Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata – who has seemingly seen a move to Manchester United fall through.
United had been locked in talks with Real to try and land the player – who himself has been pressing for Madrid to allow him to make the move to Old Trafford.
The two clubs were nearing a deal, but United have instead jumped into pole position, ahead of Chelsea, to land Romelu Lukaku from Everton instead.
Everton and United were locked in talks over Wayne Rooney anyway, and now they have seemingly come to agreement over a £75million deal for the Belgian.
Reports in Spain have suggested that the door is still open for United and Morata, but it remains to be seen – likewise Chelsea may try and last ditch bid for Lukaku.
Bookmakers now believe that Morata is more likely to join Chelsea and BetVictor list them at Evens.
