Less than a month to the Cheltenham Festival and Bookmakers have opened their books on what the going will be for the first race.

Coral has has opening race of next month’s Festival as good to soft which is their 1-4 favourite. It’s then 4-1 that the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle is run on soft, and 8-1 that the going is good, ahead of heavy at 25-1.

“Barring any significant rainfall on the eve of the Festival,” said Coral’s David Stevens.

“Clerk of the course Simon Claisse will surely be aiming to send the runners off for the Supreme Novices’ on going that’s described as good to soft, and once again that is our odds-on favourite for this annual market,”
