China option emerges for Moussa Sissoko

Moussa Sissoko could be on his way to China this summer with Tottenham looking to recoup their entire £30million outlay on the French midfielder.

Spurs landed Sissoko on the last day of last summer’s transfer deadline, beating Everton to his signature – following an outstanding Euro 2016.

However, Sissoko found life tough at Spurs and was limited to just eight league starts and he admits he could be leaving.

“You can never be sure of anything,” Sissoko said earlier this week.

“Once again, what I want is for everything to be clear. If the manager is no longer counting on me, if he thinks that other players are better, then he should say it.

“The idea is to be clear very early to allow, if I need to leave, for my agent to do good work… Even if everyone knows that I prefer England, I have never closed the door to any league.

“I want a completely honest conversation to see what they plan to do, what they are seeing in terms of my future. From that moment on, everything will be clearer in my head.”

Now a number of clubs are being linked with Sissoko – including Everton, who wanted him last year, and Marseille – who would be keen on taking him back to France, but nobody in Europe is willing to pay Spurs anywhere near £30million they paid, and they would be looking at half that.

But I understand interest from China is strong and Spurs are keen, as they would get their entire £30million and Sissoko for his part would get a big pay rise.

We spoke to Ladbrokes on the Sissoko market and they priced him at 5/1 to move to China this summer.
