City battle Terriers for quarter-final berth

Manchester City and Huddersfield Town lock-horns for the right to take on Middlesbrough in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Both sides played out out a goalless draw at The John Smith’s Stadium first time around, and now they will do it all again at The Etihad Stadium.

City boss Pep Guardiola insists that he is full concentrating on and said: “Every competition we try and win, that is how it has always been for me.”

Town boss David Wagner added: “We will have to make sure we are concentrated on the game, first to last whistle.”

City go into the game with a strong squad with French defender Gael Clichy back in contention following a back problem, but Vincent Kompany is once again sidelined.

For Huddersfield they will be without the injured pair of Christopher Schindler and Kasey Palmer, whilst Aaron Mooy can’t play against his parent club. There is also a major question mark of star striker Nahki Wells, who has an ankle injury.

Manchester City v Huddersfield Town – 19:45, Tuesday

KEY FACT: Huddersfield’s club record defeat is the 10-1 loss to Manchester City in Division Two in November 1987.
MATCH ODDS: Man City 2/15 Draw 9/1 Huddersfield Town 20/1
SILKY SAYS: This could be anything in terms of a City win, 3-0 or 5-0, so I will go in between. 4-0
TGT INSIDER SAYS: Huddersfield play some great stuff and again won’t make life easy for City but can’t see a shock in this one – 2-0
BOOKIE SAYS: I expect the Terriers to give it a good go at the Etihad but can’t see them knocking out a Manchester City side that are well rested after a weekend off and have a squad that has mammoth strength in depth. I can see Huddersfield holding the Citizens until the interval but Guardiola’s side prevailing thereafter; the draw/Man City double result looks a big price at 4/1 with BetVictor with City to win and both teams to score likewise over-priced at 8/5. BetVictor recommendation: Premier League outfit 2/15 favourites to get the job done inside 90 minutes
