City set to push for Kyle Walker

Manchester City are set to push on and make a firm offer for Tottenham Hotspur full-back Kyle Walker.

City’s hierarchy have been making enquiries and they believe that the indications they are getting from Spurs’ end and also the player – are positive.

26-year-old Walker only signed a new contract last year, but a number of his team-mates have enjoyed pay rises since and he wants parity.

The issue for Spurs is, that they know City are ready to pay Walker well in excess of £100,000-a-week – a level they are unlikely to go to for the England full-back.

City are in desperate need of new full-backs and Walker has emerged as their main target to come in at right-back.

Pep Guardiola has approved the move with his bosses, and he will be hoping they can progress the deal.

A well placed source told me: “City believe the noises they are hearing are quite positive, the door has not been slammed in their face.”

City are ready prepared to pay in excess of £30million for Walker, which may be too much for Tottenham to say no to.

SkyBet make Walker 4/7 to join Manchester City this summer.
