Coney Island is the latest big name to be pulled out of the Cheltenham Festival.
The highly-fancied six-year-old was one of JP McManus’s big challengers going to Prestbury Park and was second favourite for the RSA Chase behind Might Bite.
But now a foot injury has has ruled him out of making the trip, Frank Berry, racing manager to JP McManus confirmed: “He’s got a foot injury and won’t recover in time for Cheltenham.
“He’s got a badly bruised foot. It’s just come at the wrong time.”
As a result of Coney Island pulling out, many bookmakers are cutting Might Bite the favourite but Betfair are holding him at 100/30.
Barry Orr told TheGamblingTimes.com: “We are holding Might Bite after Coney Island’s withdrawal, even though what money we are seeing is for Might Bite.”
