Anthony Martial’s agent has confirmed that his client wants to leave Manchester United.
We revealed earlier this year that the unsettled French star was set to depart Old Trafford this summer, and now his likely departure has been confirmed.
Speaking to French media, Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley has made it quite clear that the forward wants out.
“After thinking about all the possibilities, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United. There are many possibilities, for now it is premature to talk about. Anthony will speak later to discuss it all,” he said.
“I can tell you that without the unconditional support of the fans, Anthony would have already asked to leave United.
“Anthony just wants to play, find fun, the feeling with the coach will be crucial.
“It is important to remember that this season he scored 11 goals and provided ten assists in five months. He was elected three times players of the month by the fans. Then came the January transfer window.
“We do not have the same vision on the future of Anthony. Today, Anthony is disappointed because he demonstrated for three seasons his love for the club and its supporters.”
Martial is being linked with a host of clubs, with Tottenham current favourite – but I understand that United would rather the player moved abroad.
Paris Saint Germain are actively monitoring his situation, but their finances are complicated following the big-money buys of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, whilst Italian champions Juventus are very keen.
