Crusaders backed to slay Lions

Following the shock loss to Auckland Blues on Wednesday, The British & Irish Lions are being backed to lose for a second successive match against The Crusaders on Saturday.

The Lions take on The Crusaders in Christchurch, still licking their wounds from their loss in Auckland.

Warren Gatland’s squad are Evens to get back to winning ways with The Crusaders, who are still unbeaten this season, priced at 5/6 to tame the Lions.

Crusaders have confirmed nine All Blacks in their side for the clash and their head coach Scott Robertson is looking forward to the clash.

“This is a huge and exciting challenge for us,” said Robertson.

“We are facing some of the best rugby players in the world, but we have some of the world’s best in this team too, so it will be a fantastic clash.”

Liam Glynn, BoyleSports spokesperson said: “Warren Gatland’s squad will be a new 15 from the side that were shocked by The Blues and already, despite being the slight outsiders to win Saturday’s game against the Crusaders, the current 11/10 money for The Lions is proving extremely popular.

“Saturday’s match is expected to be a close encounter with just one point separating the teams in the handicap betting.

“The British & Irish Lions will certainly need to get back to winning ways to put a bit more confidence into the squad ahead of the gruelling three tests against the All Blacks.”
