Daily Betting Brief with Betfred – Jan 15

We pick out some the day’s best bets with Betfred, including the FA Cup, Horse Racing and Masters Snooker.

OGS vs NES

Between them, Manchester United and Wolves have won the FA Cup sixteen times. The latest of Wolves’ quartet was way back in 1960, while United last lifted the famous old trophy four years ago, under former boss Louis van Gaal.

Both would, I’m sure, love a run this time around. Only three points and two positions separate the teams in the Premier League and, by virtue of home advantage as much as anything, Solskjaer’s Reds are 5/6 at Betfred to earn a trip to either Watford or Tranmere. Wolves trade at 7/2, and it’s 13/5 the Draw.

Talisman Marcus Rashford is so important for the Reds – and he’s 11/4 to score the game’s first goal – while for Wolves it’s flying machine Adama Traore, who is a tempting 9/1. I’m not saying he’s the fastest player I’ve ever seen, but he’s in the top one.

Nicky + Newbury = ….

There’s no shortage of talking points in the racing world today – and where better to start than at Newbury, where all eyes will be on the debut of Flinteur Sacre, full brother to the legendary Sprinter Sacre, in the bumper at 4.00.

Like his sibling, he’s trained by Nicky Henderson, a master at this track, and is owned by the JP McManus. Barry Geraghty takes the ride, after waiting over two hours from his first mount of the day at 1.45. A tip in itself?

This €125,000 purchase is a 6/4 shot at present, and if has anything like the talent of his big brother… well…

Nicky also runs the exciting novice hurdler Shishkin (8/11) and unexposed novice chaser Precious Cargo (6/5), as well as three others, on the card.

Masters Snooker

We witnessed a pretty big shock at the Alexandra Palace yesterday, as Betfred World Snooker champion Judd Trump went crashing out of the Masters to Shaun Murphy.

Today looks incredibly competitive, with Kyren Wilson (8/11) just fancied to get past Jack Lisowski (11/10) – while Mark Williams (10/11) and Stuart Bingham (10/11) are currently inseparable in the betting.
