A tough assignment for City

We’re blessed with FIVE midweek Premier League games this evening – including Sheffield United (7/1) hosting champions Manchester City (2/5) at 7.30pm.

This is no easy task for Pep Guardiola and co, who come off the back of a disappointing draw with Crystal Palace at the weekend, at Bramall Lane against a side not many would disagree have been this season’s surprise package.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa host Watford; Southampton travel to Crystal Palace; Bournemouth entertain Brighton; and Newcastle take on Everton.

Early exit in Aus for main British hopes

Kyle Edmund and Johanna Konta were both eliminated from the Australian Open overnight after suffering first round defeats.

Edmund was beaten 7-6 (9-7) 6-3 7-6 (7-4) by Serbian Dusan Lajovic, while Konta went down 6-4 6-2 to Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur.

At time of writing, reigning champion Djokovic heads the betting for the men’s game at 5/4 – ahead of Rafael Nadal (9/2), Daniil Medvedev (7/1), Roger Federer (8/1), Stefanos Tsitsipas (14/1), and it’s 20/1 bar.

While in the women’s game it’s Serena Williams the 7/2 favourite – with Ashleigh Barty and Naomi Osaka both 7/1 shots, Karolina Pilskova (8/1), and it’s 14/1 bar.
