We pick out some the day’s best bets with Betfred.
In 46 appearances for England, Mick Channon scored a highly respectable 21 goals. In more recent years he’s been better known for his prowess as a racehorse trainer however, and he runs two very interesting types today.
In Wolverhampton’s opener he saddles Jungle Capers (2/1) in a modest little sprint, and the horse found some form on his last start at Chelmsford over a furlong further. Meanwhile, over at Hereford, the versatile Channon has Lord Howard (9/1) entered up in a juvenile maiden hurdle – a horse who carries his own yellow-and-black colours.
The horse is making its debut over timber, but has run respectably on ground with plenty of give in it, which he seems sure to encounter today. We’ll be interested to see how Mick’s pair fare today.
(Yesterday we alerted you to the prowess of trainer Satish Seemar at Meydan – and he didn’t disappoint, rattling in a 10/1 winner…)
Something else that catches the eye when looking at today’s cards is Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden heading to Hereford for just the one runner – Red Risk in the 2.45.
This five-year-old French raider is making his British debut and has already seen plenty of support, into 4/5 from 11/10 when prices opened.
Our final nod in your direction concerns the 3.45 Wolverhampton, specifically the Roger Varian trained Nehaall.
She’s a 7/4 shot at present, having opened at around 9/4, and it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see her head the Godolphin favourite Symbol Of Love (6/4) in the market by the off.
Nehaall made her debut in what looks a pretty hot race won by Charles Hills’ Dulas, who has some very smart form in behind Group horses. She should have learned plenty from that, and looks to be suited by today’s longer trip – so she must have an excellent chance in the penultimate race at Wolverhampton today.
