Danny Rose will be allowed to leave in January

Danny Rose has been told that he will be allowed to leave Tottenham in January, after a further disagreement with boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The England full-back was forced to apologise earlier this year when he publicly criticised the club’s pay structure.

Now having returned to injury Rose, is having to battle his way back into his team and last week he admitted to be ‘furious’ at missing the North London derby with Arsenal.

Tottenham chief Mauricio Pochettino is unfazed by Rose’s annoynace.

“He never showed that feeling to me. That is why I was surprised. The day before we had a conversation and he never showed me that he was angry. Of course disappointed, but I understand that after he was angry,” said Pochettino.

“I like when the player feels that emotion because it means they’re interested in helping the team and they want to play. In front of me he was never upset or angry, he never showed that behaviour, he was normal.”

Sources close to the situation have now told me that Pochettino has sanctioned Rose’s exit, although that will be dependent on chief Daniel Levy’s value of the player being met.

As it stands both Chelsea and Mancehester United are ready to make moves for the England full-back, with the player anxious to seal a move.

It is understood a move to United would be Rose’s priority, as he wants to move back to his native North of England.

Manchester City are also keeping a breast of the situation and could yet enter the bidding, given Guardiola’s liking for cover at full-back and the injury problems being suffered by their summer signing Benjamin Mendy.

Should, as expected, Spurs do sell Rose – their number one target to replace him is Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon, who they have been following closely for a couple of years.

Bookmakers believe Manchester United are in pole position to land the left-back and are as short as 5/4.

BetVictor’s Head of ante post Football Michael Triffitt spoke to us about the market around Rose.

“Spurs left back Danny Rose is still attracting the attention of Manchester United and the Red Devils have been supported into 5/4 from 2/1 to capture him during the January transfer window.”

On Sessegnon he added: “Tottenham may well be looking to finally add exciting Fulham prospect Ryan Sessegnon to their squad and BetVictor make that a 3/1 chance to happen whilst Liverpool are also rumoured to be watching the player and are 5/1 to seal the deal.”
