De Bruyne remains favourite to be Player of the Year

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne remains favourite to be named Player of the Year, despite the efforts of Liverpool star Mo Salah.

Salah is on course to land the Premier League Golden Boot, with nearest rival Harry Kane set to miss a crucial number of weeks through injury.

But whilst Salah is the name on everyone’s lips, City’s Belgian midfield magician De Bruyne is still expected to land the big prize.

De Bruyne has been the star in City’s wonderful title charge, with many now regarding him amongst the world’s best.

Bookmakers have reacted to Salah’s form and cut him into 11/8 but De Bruyne remains favourite and odds-on at 4/7.

“Kevin De Bruyne has been the front-runner for the player of the year award from the opening weeks of the season, and while he remains odds-on favourite, Mo Salah has also been a star performer for his club and is closing in on the Belgian in the betting,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
