Doucoure on course for summer move

Abdoulaye Doucoure has his sights firmly set on a big move this summer, and he is set to ignore pleas from Watford boss Javi Gracia to stay put.

The 25-year-old is enjoying the best season of his career, and that has seen interest emerge from a host of clubs – both in England and abroad.

I understand that Arsenal remain in pole position, and that the player’s priority is to stay in England – but Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham are also keen, meaning he will not be short of options come the end of the season.

Sources have also told me that Borussia Dortmund and Monaco are keen on the one-time Rennes ace, who I believe has his heart set on a move this summer.

Watford boss Javi Gracia believes Doucoure should remain, but sources close to the club have told me that they will sell for a fee in excess of £30million.

“Doucoure is playing for a very big team, playing in the Premier League and in the future I would like him to play with Watford in Europe,” Gracia said.

“Maybe in the future he can play with other big clubs who play in the Champions League. But what I feel at this moment is that all of our players are proud to belong at this club.”

Bookmakers make Arsenal and Tottenham favourites at 4/1, just ahead of Liverpool – who are priced at 6/1 by BetVictor.
