Our Duke was a hugely impressive winner of the BoyleSports Irish Grand National on Monday and he has been installed as one of the favourites for next year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup.

He came home as the 9/2 favourite for trainer Jessica Harrington and Robbie Power – who are in a rich vein form following their treble at Cheltenham, which included Gold Cup winner Sizing John.

But now the bookies believer that Sizing John’s big rival at Prestbury Park next season could be his stablemate Our Duke.

BetVictor spokesperson Jack Milner said: “Our Duke looked a class apart in the Irish National and, despite being cut to 20/1 from 33s after the race, it hasn’t stopped punters going in again, with the talented seven-year-old now 14/1 with BetVictor to give trainer Jessica Harrington back-to-back wins in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.”
