Arsenal’s League Cup hero Eddie Nketiah is set to feature in the Premier League, according to Bookmakers.

The 18-year-old England youth star, who made his Arsenal debut in their Europa League clash at BATE Borisov earlier this season, made a huge impact as he was introduced to the home crowd on Tuesday.

He scored with his first touch to level their clash with Norwich before claiming the winner in extra-time

“It made me feel very privileged to be welcomed in by the fans like that and it’s a dream come through as I said,” he said.

“I just want to keep impressing the fans and making them happy because they mean a lot to this club and they mean a lot to me so hopefully I can keep pushing forward.”

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was delighted with his latest youth find.

“I can’t remember a young player having such an impact in a game like that. Until he came on we lacked ideas and creativity,” he said.

“I knew he had quality, but when the team need you and you deliver, that’s another quality you don’t know about until you go on to the pitch.

“I’m impressed to think that he was not even conceived when I was already here! But it’s good as well because life gives chances to young people. Hopefully he’ll have a long career at Arsenal.”

Bookmakers are now backing him to have a successful career with Arsenal, and Ladbrokes rate him at 6/10 to start a Premier League game.

They also offer 20/1 on him making the England World Cup squad.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Gooners finally have something to cheer about, it seems, with Nketiah already looking like a real fan favourite.

“The latest odds may suggest he has it all to do to surpass Henry’s record figure, but two goals in as many senior appearances have at least called our traders into action.”
