Emery emerges in Premier League Sack Race

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is the new favourite for the Premier League Sack Race.

Emery is coming under increasing pressure with Gunners fans calling for him to be sacked, after a poor run of form which has seen them drop off the pace in the Premier League.

Bookmakers have now slashed Emery’s odds into 2/1 favourite, but despite this the Spaniard is refusing to accept any pressure.

“I have explained many times that I don’t feel pressure,” said Emery.

“Pressure is just what people talk about. I am demanding of myself and I feel responsible.

“When I speak to the club, they always transmit calm to me, which I try to transmit to the players and to the fans, knowing that we have an important objective this season.”

Now, according to OddsMonkey, Emery is the tenth different manager to be favourite.

Emery is now favourite, just ahead of Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl.

OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “Always a fascinating market and it probably isn’t a huge shock to see Emery backed in, such has been the criticism in recent weeks – but the pressure is really on Ralph Hasenhuttl as well as the likes of Manuel Pellegrini and Marco Silva – so we could see a number of names emerge at the top of this market in the coming days as the international break begins.”
