Enable could be set to go for an unprecedented third Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in 2019.
The brilliant filly claimed her second Arc at Longchamp on Sunday – joining an elite list of seven other horses – Ksar, Motrico, Corrida, Tantieme, Ribot, Alleged and Treve – to win it twice.
However, no horse has ever managed three wins in what is one of the world’s top racing prizes and trainer John Gosden has admitted he would be keen to go for the historic three-timer.
“If she’s in great order, her owner/breeder Khalid Abdullah will make the decision, but it would be wonderful if he felt she would like to go for it,” he said.
“If she’s fit and well, she’d only be five years old – that’s like reaching a zenith in a way for a Flat horse – so it would be great. Put it this way, the filly will tell us – and he will make the decision.”
BetVictor make Enable 5/1 to do the unthinkable and win again in Paris in 2019.
Spokesman Charlie McCann commented: “Trainer John Gosden has hinted that Enable could stay in training next season and, if she gets an uninterrupted preparation, she would be mighty hard to beat in her bid for an unprecedented third win in the great race.
“Owner Prince Khalid Abdulla will make the final decision but wouldn’t it be great to see Enable v Sea Of Stars v the best of the classic generation in Paris next autumn. Fingers crossed for the rematch!”
