Enable heads up the field for the Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe and she is the short price favourite to retain her crown.
The John Gosden trained brilliant four-year old was unstoppable last season sweeping all before her with her Arc win capping a season which contained five successive Group One wins.
Her return this year was beset with injuries but she returned to action at Kempton last month and eased to victory, and she is now firm favourite for a second successive Arc.
Gosden is hoping her lack of time on the track will mean she is fresher for her defence at Longchamp.
“It’s been a frustrating year as were hoping to run in King Georges’, Prince Of Wales’ and that sort of thing but it didn’t happen. However, as a benefit, she is fresh, if you look at it that way,” he said.
Gosden is yet to confirm whether Enable’s stablemate Cracksman will be present in Paris, as they are waiting to see if conditions will be favourable.
The nearest rival to Enable, according to the Bookmakers, will be the William Haggas trained Sea Of Class – with the Irish filly set to be supplemented.
“Our plan is to supplement her, the weather forecast looks dry and we’re happy with her, so that’s the idea,” said Haggas.
Aidan O’Brien is sending over St Leger winner Kew Gardens looking for the win, although that could be one of six entered by the Irish champion trainer.
“Enable is a very strong favourite for the race but there is some real class in the field with Kew Gardens,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
