England are Nations League favourites

England have been favourites to win the inaugural Nations League.

The Three Lions have booked their place in the semi-finals of the Nations League –  where they will face Holland, Switzerland and Portugal, who will be hosts.

England came through the toughest group drawn, getting passed Spain and World Cup finalists Croatia.

“We’ve come out of an incredibly tough group, in terms of form and world rankings the toughest. We haven’t sat back after the summer and preened ourselves. We’ve progressed,” he said.

“People can see the style and start to believe in what we’re doing. The biggest thing is the connection with the fans – I haven’t seen the new Wembley like that.

“The way it feels with the fans is special. It’s giving us the energy to try to go on and break new barriers all the time.”

Now with the likes of Germany, France, Spain and Belgium going out – England find themselves at the head of the betting with Bookmakers making them 7/4 favourites.

That puts them ahead of second favourites Portugal (9/4), Netherlands (3/1) and Switzerland (9/2) in the betting.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Things couldn’t have worked out better for England, who are now favourites with our traders to go all the way in the Nations League.”
