England odds lengthen after Italian struggle

England were rated 1/1000 to beat Italy, but the game at Twickenham was anything but a walk in the park for Eddie Jones’s undefeated outfit.

The Red Rose outfit were behind at the break and needed a strong second-half showing to get past Connor O’Shea’s side, who put in a great effort, having been on the end of the some big defeats in their opening two contests.

Two quick tries after the break from Danny Care and Elliot Daly calmed nerves just minutes after the re-start and one more from Ben Te’o – on his first start – and two from sub, or finisher as Jones likes to call them, Jack Nowell helped England to an unlikely bonus point.

England now are three points clear at the top of the table, but they will need to improve to beat in-form Scotland in two weeks and then Ireland in the final game.

Now SkyBet have moved England out to 4/9 for the Six Nations title overall.
