All English Champions League final on the cards

Five Premier League clubs are in the Champions League last 16 for the first-time, but can they all make it into the quarter-finals?

The best one nation has ever done is have four teams in the last eight, which was Englan in both 2008 and 2009 when Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United did it two season in succession.

Now with Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all through – the chances of English success are looking good.

Man City are already the favourites to win, and the chances of an all English final are just 5/1.

Betway offer 600/1 for all teams to be knocked out before the quarter finals, 6/4 for just one and 9/2 for a clean sweep of wins.

Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “With five teams in the Champions League last-16, it appears as if English sides are gradually becoming the force of old and it’s 5/1 for the final to be contested between two English sides.

“Man City are head and shoulders above their Premier League rivals at 8/11 to be the last English side standing, while Man United and Liverpool have both been handed winnable contests and can be backed at 5/1 each to progress furthest.

“Chelsea in particular look to have it all to do and are 12/1 to fly the English flag longest. At 6/4, we think that one of the five teams will be knocked out in the last-16, while it’s slightly bigger at 15/8 for just three to make it through to the quarters.”
