Europa League Final Preview – Chelsea v Arsenal

Chelsea and Arsenal meet in the Europa League Final on Wednesday in Azerbaijan.

Baku hosts what is the first ever all-English final in this competition, and both are looking to end their season with sivlerware.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri – whose future remains far from certain – is determined to finish his first season as Blues boss in style.

“The season was very difficult for us but at the end we are happy. We were in trouble three months ago but we reacted very well,” said Sarri.

“We have finished in third position, we reached the target of the club to get back in the Champions League and we played a final against Manchester City in the League Cup after beating Liverpool and Tottenham, the two Champions League finalists.

“Now we have to play a very important match in the Europa League final. Right now the season is very good but hopefully it can become wonderful.”

Unai Emery’s Arsenal need to win the match to land a place in the Champions League, after finishing outside the top-four.

“Our targets are in two ways to go to the Champions League and after to play with the titles. We are going to do two objectives,” said Emery.

“Above all is to enjoy and play with all our good spirit. This competition is improving a lot. The last year’s big teams have played in the final.

“Chelsea vs Arsenal, I hope that can be a final in the Champions League, they and we have some of the best players in the world.”
