Everton looking for new boss

Paulo Fonseca and Marco Silva are the leading candidates to replace Sam Allardyce at Everton.

Allardyce replaced Ronald Koeman after a disastrous start to the season, but he was not first choice as they failed with an approach for then Watford boss Marco Silva.

Allardyce initially rejected Everton’s overture as he wanted a longer deal than the contract until the end of the season that was offered, and indeed The Toffees came back with a two-year deal which he signed.

However, Allardyce has now been paid up and Everton are again looking for a new boss, and Silva – who ironically was soon sacked by Watford just weeks after they turned down the approach for him – is now available, although it is understood that The Hornets would still be due compensation for him.

Fonseca’s deal with Ukrainian giants Shakthar Donetsk is due to expire this summer – and as we revealed earlier this year – his representatives are confident he will be managing in England next season.

Bookmakers already make Marco Silva firm favourite and he is odds-on at 1/3 to land the job with BetVictor.
