Fernando Llorente still on Antonio Conte’s wishlist

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has rekindled his interest in landing Swansea striker Fernando Llorente.

The Blues are well on with their deal to re-sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton, whilst they are also in talks over Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko and Juventus’ Alex Sandro.

But Conte has insisted to the Chelsea hierarchy that he wants 32-year-old Llorente – who served him so well during his time at Juventus and who proved himself in England last season with 15 goals for Swansea, following his move from Sevilla.

Chelsea tried to sign Llorente in January and now they are ready to go back for him again, with Conte looking for Chelsea to move on both Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi this summer.

Conte is more than happy with Lukaku but he wants Llorente too – given they are set to embark on a Champions League campaign too next season.

And coincidentally – Chelsea have already sanctioned the loan of their top young striker Tammy Abraham to the Liberty Stadium, making it more likely that Llorente will be moved on.

Swansea have confirmed that Llorente has broken a bone in his arm during his pre-season break – but that will not stop him being fit for the start of the Premier League season and therefore would not prevent him moving to Chelsea, if that deal materialises.

I also understand that there are a number of clubs in China looking at Llorente too, but the player is aware of Conte’s interest and would jump at the chance to link back up with the Chelsea boss.

Most Bookmakers believe that Llorente is most likely to start the season at Swansea – BetVictor’s rate Chelsea as 4/1 to sign him with a move to China rated at 8/1.
