Formula E preview

Formula E returns from it’s winter break with the third round n in Argentina and TheGamblingTimes.com previews the rest of the season.

The first two rounds took place in Hong Kong and Morocco in October and November last year and they were both won by defending champion Sebastian Buemi.

It is therefore little surprise that he is already being listed as odds-on favourite to retain his Championship with Betfair listing him as 3/10.

Buemi is therefore already some 32 points clear at the top, although the chase pack are grouped together quite closely and that includes British ace Sam Bird.

We spoke to Betfair and their spokesperson told TheGamblingTimes.com:  “After a perfect start to the Sebastian Buemi has shortened up to 3/10.

“We’ve seen some recreational money at this price. Even though it’s a long season, we feel that the experience of winning last year’s title along with a substantial lead at this early stage means that Buemi will very difficult to overhaul

“There has been some patriotic money on Sam Bird. It would appear a big ask for Sam Bird to win the title this year.

“Given his form from last year and the non points finish in Hong Kong, it’s beginning to look like Sam may well end up finishing around 3rd-5th in the title race but a long way back from the eventual winner. Di Grassi and Prost look to be Buemi’s biggest dangers this year.”
