Real Madrid have pulled the plug on Gareth Bale’s prospective move to China.
The 30-year-old winger has been linked all summer with a move away from the Spanish capital, but he has shunned all approaches thus far, with moves back to England, to Italy and Germany all mentioned.
Bale had insisted – through his agents – all summer that he had no intention of leaving Madrid, and was happy to sit and try and win his place.
But with head coach Zinedine Zidane pushing him away and confirming his desire to move Bale on, it seemed that the Welsh ace was set to move.
Jiangsu Suning – who also own Inter Milan – were set to nearly double Bale’s wage packet and pay him £1million-a-week, but now that deal is off.
He was odds-on to but now Bookmakers have him odds-on at 2/5 to stay at Real Madrid, and 5/2 to move to China.
