After sealing a unanimous point decision over compatriot Julio Chavez Jnr in Las Vegas on Saturday, it was confirmed almost straight after that a deal had been agreed.

William Hill are already pricing up the ‘Super-fight’ in favour of European ace Golovkin – who is undefeated in his career so far.
“This is the fight that boxing fans have being calling out for the last few years,” said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny.
“GGG looked in a different weight class to Canelo when the pair squared up to promote the fight– and I don’t think there will be too many fans shocked to see that he is the odds-on favourite to win the fight.”
