Roy Hodgson is now down to just 4/1 for the Crystal Palace job, after we revealed he was a contender for the role.
We revealed exclusively last week that the former England boss was on the radar for Palace – who looking to replace Sam Allardyce, following his decision to quit.
Palace chief Steve Parish and his fellow directors are understood to be keeping their options open, but Hodgson was somebody they considered at the same time as Allardyce – so they are already well versed on his CV.
Hodgson is understood to be looking to get back into management, having not had a role since leaving England last summer following their horrendous European Championship campaign – but he has not been short of offers.
However, the former England, Liverpool and Fulham boss is understood to be keen on a club in the capital and Crystal Palace fit the bill for him.
We spoke to BetVictor’s Charlie McCann about how Hodgson’s odds have more than halved in the last few days.
“Hodgson has surprisingly attracted support for the Palace job after he came out and expressed a desire to take over from Sam Allardyce at Selhurst Park,” he told TheGamblingTimes.com.
“Hasving touched 3s we have pushed him back out to 4s as we feel it would be a backwards step for the Eagles and can’t see past Gary Monk who remains our 4/7 favourite despite former Chairman Simon Jordan suggesting he would not want the former Swans’ boss at the club.”
