Inter Milan have emerged as odds-on favourites to sign England striker Daniel Sturridge.
The 28-year-old is keen to get away from Anfield this month, as he looks to give himself a chance of making Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad.
Sturridge has plenty of interest in England and I understand Southampton, Newcastle and West Ham are amongst the clubs who have expressed an interest with Liverpool to land him on loan.
Sturridge, though, has a number of options to move abroad and it is not just Inter who are keen, with sources suggesting Valencia, Sevilla and Nantes are all keen – but it is the Serie A giants emerging as strong favourites.
Bookmakers are now on the brink of closing their markets on Sturridge with Inter at such a short price. PaddyPower have Inter at 1/14 – which is a 93% probability.
Spokesman Paddy Power said: “Studge – remember him? He’s been bench warming at Liverpool, but it seems like he’s off to sunnier climes.
“Our traders have taken thousands on him making the move in the last few hours, which is looking like a loan deal.”
