International Friendlies Preview: England v Brazil & Wales v Panama

England continue their World Cup preparations by hosting Brazil at Wembley.

Three Lions coach Gareth Southgate is looking forward to facing South American opposition.

“This Brazilian team are well down the road in terms of knowing what their best team is,” said Southgate.

“They have a clear way of playing, some outstanding individuals, immense physical presence, so it’s a different sort of challenge for us as you’d expect.

“We are playing the best team in the world who’ve annihilated everybody in South American qualification which is the hardest way to the finals so we have to be spot on to have a chance of winning the game.”

Tottenham’s Eric Dier will again captain the side whilst Ruben Loftus-Cheek is set to retain his place in midfield.

Chris Coleman takes charge of what could be his last game with Wales as they host World Cup qualified Panama.

“It’s not me sitting down saying ‘Where is my contract? I want to sort it out. I want this that or the other.’ Of course I’m a factor in it. I am the manager,” Coleman said.

“But I have a support group around me that are integral in how I see us going to the next step, that is very important.

“We may not all be singing off the same hymn sheet. They [the FAW] know the situation. They already know my stance how I see things – how I want to work, who I want to work with, how i want it to go. But they may not see it that way.

“That’s okay. There won’t be any bad feeling, because the experiences we have had and where we have taken it that will never be spoilt.”

Wales are set to include youngsters Ethan Ampadu, Ben Woodburn and David Brooks from the start.
