John Terry odds-on for Chelsea return

John Terry is considering his options but is understood to be keen on returning to his beloved Chelsea.

An emotional Terry left Stamford Bridge last summer, having helped them to the Premier League title – but he wanted to continue playing and so joined Championship Aston Villa.

37-year-old Terry is now considering his options, with sources close to the player admitting he is thinking about moving into coaching and hanging up his boots, and there is only one place that he wants to be and that is back at Chelsea.

Terry has seen former England team-mate Steven Gerrard merge back into Liverpool’s system seamlessly in the last 12-months where he is now the club’s academy coach – and Terry is believed to want a similar career path.

Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is ready to offer Terry a new, but a return to Chelsea now appears the most likely option.

And Bookmakers are seemingly convinced that Terry will be back at Stamford Bridge next term, on the coaching staff.

Betway list him at 2/5, which is over 70% probability.

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “John Terry has made no secret of his managerial aspirations and, with his contract at Villa Park expiring this summer, it’s just 2/5 for the England international to begin plying his trade as a Blues coach next season.

“Terry is adored by the Stamford Bridge faithful and he would no doubt be welcomed with open arms as a Chelsea coach, while being promoted straight into the managerial hot seat isn’t out of the question at 10/1, particularly as Antonio Conte is now 1/2 for the sack.”
