Jonny Evans hoping for Man City switch

West Bromwich Albion captain Jonny Evans is hoping to finalise a move to Manchester City on deadline day.

The West Brom defender has already been the subject of a bid from City, as well as Leiccester whilst Arsenal have shown an interest.

But the former Manchester United man is still based in the North West and is desperate to make the return, with City ready to bid over £30million for him.

West Brom are pushing City to send Eliaquim Mangala to them, and whilst City are happy to do that – on-loan – the player himself would rather move abroad.

Crystal Palace also want Mangala, who have also been leading the chase for Mamadou Sakho – another player West Brom would happily take.

I understand that West Brom were interested in taking Fabian Delph as part of the deal – but he rejected the chance to move to The Hawthorns, as he has done with a possible move to Stoke, as he wants to fight for his place at City.

We spoke to BetVictor’s Head of antepost Football Michael Triffitt about the Evans market.

He said: “It appears to be a three way race to capture WBA defender Jonny Evans with Manchester City favourite at Evens followed by Arsenal at 5/1 and Midland rivals Leicester at 10/1. No one team has attracted support that would indicate a move and it’s with real interest we look forward to the market developing on deadline day.”
