Jose Mourinho believes that Alexis Sanchez and David De Gea will remain at Manchester United.
Paris Saint Germain have been strongly linked with both players, even as early as next month – but Mourinho says that won’t happen.
Chilean star Sanchez has failed to live up to expectations as the Premier League’s highest player since his move from Arsenal last season, and has been strongly linked with a move.
On Sanchez, Mourinho said: “He has never told me that he wants to leave. He never told me that he’s not happy to stay.
“He is playing like the team. He is improving, like the team is improving, when he plays he is giving us his personality.”
Mourinho has also insisted that De Gea will be staying, and he insists the club are looking to tie the Spaniard down to a new deal.
De Gea’s current deal expires at the end of the season – although United have an option to extend this by 12-months, which they will do.
“I know he wants to stay,” he said of De Gea.
“I know his agent is happy to do what the player wants and I also know that the board wants him to stay and they are working on that. So hopefully, sooner or later, they arrive at a good conclusion.”
Bookmakers believe there is a real chance of both players moving, with Paris Saint Germain firmly in the mix for both.
PaddyPower make PSG 3/1 favourites to sign Sanchez, whilst they are 5/1 to land De Gea, with Juventus favourites to land him at 9/2.
