Jose Mourinho is open to the idea of returning to English football for a fourth managerial stint, which may well be of interest to Arsenal and Tottenham.
Both Unai Emery and Mauricio Pochettinho are enduring tough starts to the new season, and pressure is mounting on the pair.
Mourinho, currently working as pundit on Sky Sports and around the world, has been out of work since leaving Manchester United mid-way through last season and has been strongly linked with a return to Real Madrid – where questions have been raised about the long-term future of Zinedine Zidane.
Mourinho, who has enjoyed two stints at Chelsea as well as his spell at Old Trafford, is now looking at a stint with a third club – according to sources close to the Portuguese coach.
The odds on Mourinho’s next managerial venture being at Arsenal or Tottenham have now been slashed.
Now BoyleSports have cut the odds on the ex-Chelsea man taking up his next position across London, with the Gunners 8/1 from 14/1 to be Mourinho’s next employers, with Spurs into 10/1.
Bayern Munich however are rated as the most likely next destination for Mourinho at 7/2, while Paris St Germain are 11/2 shots to sign up the ‘Special One’.
If indeed he does end up back at Real Madrid – then that is 7/1.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “There does seem to be increasing discontent with Unai Emery at Arsenal and we saw what fan pressure did towards the end of Arsene Wenger’s tenure.
“Mourinho meanwhile is said to be keen and now we’re seeing punters starting to throw support behind this move actually happening.”
