A brilliant 67 in the third round from Justin Rose moved him into a tie of the lead at The Masters alongside Sergio Garcia.

The Englishman, who has a US Open already under his belt, is now rated as favourite at 5/2 to take the green jacket on Sunday night from last year’s champion Danny Willett.

But Garcia is very much still in the mix for his first major after a 70 and is tied at the top of the leaderboard on -6, and those two good friends will be in the final group on Sunday.

The American charge comes next with Rickie Fowler, Ryan Moore and one of the day’s big movers Jordan Spieth. Fowler sits on -5 after a 71 – which included a number of brilliant saves.

Spieth – who was ten shots off the lead at one point on day one – produced a brilliant 68 to fire himself firmly in contention for his second Augusta triumph as he is on -4, the same as Moore claimed his second consecutive 69 to put make sure he was in the mix for Sunday.

Also on -4 was overnight leader Charley Hoffman, who had been leading for most of the third round before a double bogey on the 16th set him back – but he remains a live contender.

After that come to former more former winners. Adam Scott on -3 and South African Charl Schwartzel on -2. Aussie Scott came in with a 69 with Schwartzel shooting 68.

Once again only ten players are under par and the top ten is rounded off by Lee Westwood and Thomas Pieters – who had differing days. The veteran Englishman was excellent on his way to a 68, but Pieters struggled for large parts with a 75.

There are a number of big names hovering on level par including Rory McIlroy, Paul Casey, Jon Rahm and Matt Kuchar.
